The beach at your door
This is as close to the sand as a holiday home gets. Every room opens onto a flat lawn, and from the lawn it's a few steps down to Kuaotunu Beach.
Guests swim, kayak and walk the beach end to end straight from the house. They fall asleep to the surf, watch the sunset from the deck, and every so often see something special in the bay: one guest saw orca swimming past.
When it's time for dinner, Luke's Kitchen, the café and the Kuaotunu Store are an easy walk along the beach or the footpath, so the car can stay where it is.
About this home
This Kuaotunu Beachfront House features large double glazed ranch sliders with every room opening out to the flat lawn with the beach directly in front of the house.
Designed around a large Open plan kitchen, living and dining area with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms all on a single level.
The Beach View bedroom has a Queen Bed, Wardrobe, Workspace and views directly out to the ocean through the double glazed ranchslider.
The Patio View bedroom has 2 Queen Beds, Set of drawers, Ensuite with Shower, Toilet and Vanity and the double glazed ranch slider opens directly on to the Patio with sea view beyond.
The Garden View bedroom has a King Bed, Wardrobe, Workspace and 2nd Desk.
The separate main bathroom with Shower, Vanity and Front Loader Washing machine is shared between the Beach View and Garden View bedrooms.
A separate Toilet is next to this bathroom
The kitchen at the centre of the house comes with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, ceramic hotplates and extractor fan, wall oven, microwave and a large assortment of kitchen pots, bowls and utensils.
Wifi from the Fibre connection is available throughout the house. Two of the bedrooms have built in desks which are ideal to place a laptop if you need a quiet space to get some remote work done while you are here. Note sounds of the waves and birds chirping in the background may make your colleagues jealous.
A 32" Wall mounted TV offers SKY TV On Demand and a Chromecast for streaming Netflix, Youtube etc from your Smartphone without having to log-in on the TV. There is also a DVD Player.
Full Linen Package Supplied: The beds will be made up for your arrival so you can begin your holiday when you walk in the door. All bed linen, bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, bath mats and tea towels are provided for every reservation. The beds will be made up for your arrival so you can start your holiday straight away and not be worrying about what sheets and sizes to bring etc.
I provide a fresh linen set every 6 nights so you won't have to do any laundry during your holiday, though there is a front loader washing machine and clothes line for your use if needed.
Shampoos, Conditioners, Body Wash, Hand Soaps, Laundry detergent, Dish brushes, Dish liquid, Dishwasher tabs etc are supplied for the duration of your stay. A starter amount of Cooking Oil, Tea and Coffee is on hand for when you arrive but you should bring your own if you will be staying longer or plan to do a lot of cooking.
Access to the house is down a private entrance. The house is set back from the road. There is parking for 2-3 cars or 2 cars and a boat.
For those looking to get out on the water and get some fishing or diving in the Kuaotunu boat ramp is only 700m up the road.
Asphalt Tennis Courts, Childrens Playground and Football field are 250m away.
Take a stroll along the concrete footpath and discover Luke's Kitchen, Kua Kawhe Cafe and the Kuaotunu Store with their famous hand rolled ice-creams.
Matarangi Beach & Otama Beach are a 10 minute drive.
Opito Bay, Whangapoua, New Chums, Coromandel Town and Whitianga are 20 minutes drive.

I live in Kuaotunu and will be On-call throughout your stay so if there are any issues with the house that need attending to I can be there to resolve these for you quickly and efficiently. I'm dedicated to making your stay as easy as possible and will always work with you to ensure the best outcome with the least inconvenience to you. Everything will be ready for your arrival from the Beds made, Heating & Lights On if you will be arriving after dark & I'm only a phone call or text away in case you do need assistance during your stay.

Children Under 12: This property is not suitable for children under 12 years due to large glass windows and immediate unfenced proximity to the beach.
This property has a Minut environment monitor installed which monitors the temperature, humidity, smoke alarm activations and sound levels within the house.
Security Deposit of NZ$250 will be requested 48 hours before you check-in. This is not a charge. It is simply a hold on your credit card and will be released after you check out and the property has been inspected and cleared for damage, missing items or excess cleaning.
Early check-in and Late Checkout options are offered in the Guest Pre-Arrival check-in which will be sent to you after you book.
The house
The Beach View bedroom has a queen bed and a workspace, and looks straight out to the sea. The Patio View bedroom has two queen beds and an ensuite, and opens onto the patio. The Garden View bedroom has a king bed and two desks. The main bathroom, with a separate toilet next to it, is shared by the other two bedrooms.
The kitchen sits at the centre of the house, with a dishwasher, wall oven and microwave. A full linen package is included, with the beds made up before you arrive, and shampoo, soap and cleaning basics are supplied.
Parking for two or three cars, or two cars and a boat. The Kuaotunu boat ramp is about 700 m up the road.

The setting is amazing, small garden then down a few steps to the beach. Check in was simple and everything you need to know is laid out. Not sure about the TV and casting as we don't watch TV! Unfortunately we only found the games and puzzles on our last day when doing a final check through Great cafe and store 10 minutes along the beach with good local coffee. Kūaotuna is a quiet, unspoilt village.Serena responded very promptly to all our messages, especially when there was a systems glitch with our booking. Plenty of heaters, rugs and cushions. We had a perfect winter weekend getaway and have already booked to come back!Thank you for sharing your home.

The house is set back from the road down a private entrance, with the beach directly in front. A playground, tennis courts and a football field are about 250 m away, and birdlife nearby includes dotterels, oystercatchers and kākā.
Matarangi and Otama beaches are about ten minutes' drive. Opito Bay, Whangapoua, New Chums Beach, Coromandel Town and Whitianga are about 20 minutes.

2. Guest must login to the Holiday Coromandel Guest Portal within 24 hours of reservation to complete additional Guest information and sign the Rental Agreement.
3. A NZ$250 Security Deposit by way of Credit Card is required 48 hours before Check-in time and will be released once the property has been inspected for damages, additional cleaning or excess rubbish removal.
4. The Guest who makes the booking is legally responsible for compliance of the house rules and Rental Agreement by all guests and visitors.

What happens after I book?
Whichever site you book through, we then send you a link to our guest portal. That's where you complete a short check-in form and get the door code and house guide, and where a refundable NZ$250 security deposit is taken as a hold on your card before check-in. It's a separate step from Airbnb or Booking.com, so it's worth doing before you set off.
Can we bring children?
We recommend the house for guests aged 12 and over, because of its large glass windows and the unfenced beach right in front.
Can we bring our dog?
Sorry, no pets.
Is the house easy to find?
The entrance is a private driveway set back from the road, and a couple of guests have found it easy to miss, so slow down as you get close.
Is there a TV?
Yes: a 32-inch TV with SKY On Demand, a Chromecast for streaming from your phone, and a DVD player. There are also books, games and puzzles.
